Faster
Access to Information and More Reliable E-Mail Speeds Resolution of Human
Rights Issues
The Human
Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission is harnessing the new Microsoft
Office System to streamline information access for its 115 employees.
Faster and more reliable access to email – which accounts for up to 80
per cent of the work handled by staff – is vital for the 50 people who
regularly work from remote sites around Australia. Microsoft Office
Outlook 2003 has helped the Commission achieve a 50 per cent improvement
in the timeliness of e-mail delivery to remote users. The Commission is
also trialling a document management solution that captures all documents
and makes them centrally available to staff. This approach enhances
information sharing and encourages collaboration within the organisation.
Better document control can also prevent leaks involving sensitive and
confidential information. JEAS Solutions Pty was the chosen business
partner to provide product.
